INUJIMA “ART HOUSE PROJECT”
瀬戸内海に浮かぶ人口50人弱の小さな島「犬島」。
島の集落で、2010年からスタートした「家プロジェクト」。空き家や空き地が活用され、現代アートを展示する小さなスペースが点在し、現在は年間約3万人が訪れる。
本書は、玄関口である港、小さな展示スペース群、アート作品、島の風景、自然、畑仕事や散歩をする島民の日常の様子などを、船で島にたどり着いてその集落の中を歩くように構成。
水平に広がる横長のフォーマットを活かした写真の数々を、犬島の見取り図や建築の図面などと共に収録。

Inujima is a small island in the Seto Inland Sea.
"Art House Project” started in 2010. Vacant houses and lots have been utilized and dotted with small spaces for exhibiting contemporary art, and currently attract about 30,000 visitors a year.
This book is composed of the port as a gateway, a group of small exhibition spaces, art works, island scenery, nature, and the daily lives of islanders working in the fields and taking walks, as if we were reaching the island by boat and walking through its settlements.
The many photographs, which make the most of the horizontal format, are included along with a floor plan of Inujima and architectural drawings of the island.
